These three terms are often confused with each other and often misspelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GB<\/strong> \u2013 <em>spelled as<\/em> <strong>Gigabyte<\/strong> \u2013 The term is ambiguous <em>i.e.<\/em> it depends on the context. While referring to secondary storage it means 10^9 whereas while referring to primary memory it means 1024^9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GiB<\/strong>\u2013<em>spelled as<\/em> <strong>Gibibyte<\/strong> \u2013 It is used while referring 1024^9. It can be used with any entity with the same meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GB<\/strong>\u2013<em>spelled as<\/em> <strong>Gigabit<\/strong> \u2013 It is used in specifying the speed of a network connection.
